This is the BEST design for an AN bolt gauge. We had several bolt bins, boxes full of bags of bolts, and boxes of new bolts. We still couldnt find the bolts we needed. Within just a short time, I had all our bolts sorted, put in bins and labeled. If you dont have one, youre working too hard and wasting too many bolts.

If you are building or maintaining an airplane, you need this! I dont know how I got along without out it before. So much easier than measuring.

The order process was straightforward. Delivery was timely. This product now uses lighter gauge steel than the one it replaces. (But isnt that the case pretty much everywhere?) Rather than lines painted directly on the steel they are now applied using a thin plastic film overlay.

Great time saver. No more guessing what size or length a bolt is. Perfect for keeping your hardware assortment in order.

Now if only they would come up with a tool to identify nuts and washers by type and size AN

I bought one of these a few years ago. Had to calibrate it with a hammer because the decal wasnt on it straight. Very useful gage, but check it against another one, or known bolt sizes to make sure the length is correct.

The accuracy of the bolt gauge is only as good as the effort of the individual that applied the sticker to it. Instead of the bolt lengths being etched into the metal, there’s a sticker that is applied to the front of the metal plate. My sticker was slightly crooked and not placed at the right height which put the bolt lengths 1/2 to a full incorrect bolt length off. Not precise, but it’ll get ya close. Not their best product.

Highly disappointed in this purchase. I bought the bolt gauge to assist in the education of A&P students at our local college. The metal has a sticker affixed to the front of it that has all of the bolt length info. The sticker was put on slightly crooked and also applied at the wrong height. As a result, the bolt gauge doesn’t read correctly. Poor QA job on this one. Will look to return this item in hopes this was a one-off. I expected better.
