Great hinge!! I thought I ordered 3 ft but it came as half a hinge 6ft long. Disappointed that it came with no pin. managed to make it work though.

More expensive than rolled piano hinge, but extruded hinges are worth it in my opinion. Could use better pictures in the online catalog, but a great product.

This hinge is the most pivotiest hinge I have ever beheld. It opens! It closes! It can hold two things together. This has changed my life forever, and for the better. Aircraft Spruce, how can I ever thank you enough?

I ordered a 3 foot section of aircraft piano hinge. It arrived by UPS on time, but the cardboard tube had been opened (or the paino hinge that was in the tube punctured it). There was a six foot steel piano hinge (without the spine pin) which had been folded in half and stuffed in the tube. I e mailed a report to Aircraft Spruce then called. I was in touch with a Carol (1346) in customer service. I explained to her what I have written and within 10 minutes she had replaced my order and shortly after our conversation I received a notice that the part had been shipped. She was extremely knowledgeable, immensely helpful and comforting and within a few days a 3 foot section of aircraft piano hinge (complete with spinal pin) arrived via UPS and it had been taped to a small 3 foot section of 1x3 and placed in a cardboard tube. Ordered 3 ft of hinge. It came as a 6 ft piece which probably increased the shipping cost. No hinge pin but fortunately I had some left over from another project.

During my annual on my experimental , my A&P gigged me on the wear of my aileron hinges and I replaced it with what I ordered , after checking the play I noticed some unexpected movement and was going to redo the replaced hinges. After thinking why not check the play on the new hinge un installed , and there was some looseness , showing this to my A&P we are asking is this the standard for new hinges ?

The hinge was nicely packaged for shipment. The quality is good overall, however there is considerable side-to-side play compared to other hinges. I measured the side play at .035, meaning there is a .035 gap between the segments of the hinge. This allows the parts to move side-to-side after the hinge is installed. I had to machine two small brass washers .015 thick and placed them between the links of the hinge in order to remove the side play.

Placed order for two sizes, got first order quickly and still waiting on the second size which is delaying my trim tab assembly... not a happy camper

Becareful when ordering, they dont tell you this, it will be shipped by itself and shipping will be twice the price. I had 12 items in the order, all came out of Georgia, this was shipped alone.
