Installed the landing light in my RV-7 experimental. As with all LED lights, there is no comparison with light output (and reliability predictions) of LEDs versus the older types. On approach I could see the RWY numbers clearly approx 1/2 mile out. Only ding here is the price. At $344 it is much more expensive than for example the Wheelen. Had I found them earlier I would have bought them. Im buying a taxi light LED now, itll be the Wheelen due to price.

I did a lot of research and settled on this product after watching side by side YouTube video comparisons. Easy installation dramatic difference in performance. Very pleased with purchase after one night flight.

tried one of these along with a TeleDyne Alphabeam in taxi and landing lights on a Cessna 210. Sunspot has a narrower spot on the landing light compared to the Alphabeam. It may be a bit brighter in the spot, but the Alphabeam is plenty bright and has a hardened lens cover which costs extra on the Sunspot. Ended up putting two AlphaBeams in both Taxi and Landing lights and returned the Sunspot which saved a hundred bucks.
