The Papa-Alpha Baggage Door Lock Tool is a purpose-made specialty wrench for maintenance personnel working on the retaining nut behind an applicable Piper baggage-door lock assembly. Its offset working head and extended handle are designed to help reach the nut where access is limited. Piper maintenance manuals for a number of PA-28 and PA-32 aircraft show a fabricated tool for this task. The Papa-Alpha tool provides a ready-made option with a red finish and Papa-Alpha branding. It is a maintenance tool, not a replacement lock or a Piper-manufactured part. Consult the current aircraft maintenance instructions and confirm the aircraft serial number, installed lock configuration and actual tool fit before use. Historical documentation is not proof of fit on every aircraft or modified lock. |
