Some aircraft applications create an environment that does not allow adequate clearance to get a torque wrench or even an open-end wrench around the install nut on oil filters. Even though Tempest has recently introduced the Dash II filter, which is the shortest oil filter on the market, the clearance is still not enough on some applications, such as Beech Barons and Bonanzas. To eliminate this problem Tempest producs the AA474 oil filter wrench extension.

While it does allow for easy removal of oil filters in a D55 Baron, using it as a torque adapter is difficult, and cumbersome. I was eventully able to torque, but it was a PITA. It could be a little bit thinner to get between the Oil filter and the Vacuum pump but it does work without modification.
Per the supplier: The Rotax filter doesn't have a nut, just safety wire provisions.
