|If you have measured your port and got 9/16", then the next closest size to this is 3/8" NPT.
Nothing is required but you could use Ez Turn if you would like.
You can use P/N# 05-01865 for the push type.
These are for oil and fuel systems so if the thread is correct for your application you should be able to use it on an experimental aircraft.
According to the Valve Application Data Guide PDF in the documents, the PA28-161 generally uses the CCA-1550 (Piper No. 492-022) valve.
CCA-1250 is spiral, twist open and CCA-1550 is push to open, turn to lock and conforms to NSN 2915-00-202-6420 when CCA-1250 does not.
