|The kit is replaces the worn O-rings (2) on the primer pump used on non-fuel injected engine installations. The primer seals frequently are not re-lubricated until someone complains the primer isn't working or the engine is hard starting. This is most evident by the pump being hard or stiff to operate. Generally speaking, by the time the pump stops performing, the seals are worn (to the point that lube is of little value) and must be replaced.|

Havent yet installed this primer overhaul kit in my 172D, but I put the primer overhaul kit in my 150G and it was perfect.
The o-rings were the correct size for a perfect fit. Very good and detailed instructions.
Judging from the squeaking that was eminating from my primer prior to the installation of this kit the primer orings had not been lubricated in many years. With the cold weather, the operation was only getting worse. After the installation of the kit, the primer operation is far easier and no more squeaking. The lubricant that comes with the kit is likely enough for a lifetime supply for re-lubricating it which the instructions recommend on a regular basis.
Excellent kit with good instructions. It included the two O-rings and silicone lubricant. But now that I know how to do the overhaul, I would probably just order the O-rings next time.
Was an easy fix for a leaky primer. Was only a few minutes and had great directions. Would buy again and sooner than last time!

The dims are as follows: 3/8" I.D. x 1/2" O.D. x 1/16" cross width of o-ring.
