quality product. perfect hole pattern.

Installed the unit via field approval. This light is probably the best value around. I keep the light on all the time. About 1500 hours of usage or a bit more. strongly recommended, the new LED lights are great too, but this old school traditional light is simply reliable and works. Only one wire hook up if you have a metal airplane, the skin is the ground. Easy and cool.

Best bang for the buck ever. Bright dependable flash. I can use superlatives or just report that its bright strong and I use it all the time. No drama no BS it just works.

Fantastic light that provides very bright and adequate source. I have it installed on a PA28-140. Also, for replacement parts, its fantastic!

Q: Does the fs-4400-14v come with a lens? If so, what color is it?

The FS 4400 comes stock with a clear lens only. Red/White or Red lens replacements or only available seperately.

Q: What kind of flash rate does this strobe have? Is it on and off or does it pulsate some like a comet strobe?

FS-4400 FLIGHT STROBE flashes on/off. We set the flash rate at about 50/minute.

Q: Reference the Universal Flight strobe FS 4400, what is the mounting case diameter?

The mounting case for the FS 4400 has a diameter of 3.75"

Q: Does the FS 4400 Strobe (Part # ) include a new bulb?

Yes, the bulb is included with the FS 4400.

Q: Does the FS-4400 strobe come with a mounting bracket? I have a 3.75 inch hole in the top of my Vertical Stabilizer with 4 holes in it.

No, there is no mounting bracket included. An adapter must be purchased separately for a belly installation, it can be found under part # 11-06500. We have added the PDF of the installation instructions and the STC to the Documents tab of this web page for your review.

Q: Can you show the bottom of the strobe light and the wires going out of the bottom end of the FS 4400 strobe?

We have added the photo of the bottom of the unit to show the wire.

Q: Does this FS 4400 unit need a power box or is it self contained what is the voltage recommendation out put on the light. 12 to 14 volts?

It is self contained. Its for a 14volt system which is basically the same as a 12volt. The system usually operates at around 12volts but can peak/spike up to 14volts so it is referred to as 14v system.

Q: What are the physical dimensions of the FS 4400 strobe? I am looking for a replacement for my grimes 30-0437-1 strobe unit.

Overall height=5.25" | Diameter of base= 3.75" | Lens height= 2.5" | Lens diameter= 2.25"

Q: Is it a direct replacement for 66’ c-182 tail beacon/strobe?

Yes, this should fit that aircraft. Form 337 field approval will be required.

Q: Will this work as a replacement for the Cessna 30-0437-100 fuselage strobe? It was installed in 1972, and it recently died. Time to replace that strobe!

The manufacturer does not have a cross reference to that Cessna number.
