Customer will need to provide core for overhaul in the event our supplier does not have cores available to overhaul.
Note: All Rebuilt & Overhauled Carb Purchases will be Charged an Additional fee for Core.
Aircraft Spruce has the cheapest and most efficient carburetor exchange available. The new one came properly packaged with everything lock-tite and sealed as needed. Removing some of the screws to add accessories (carb temp, fuel metering, etc) were very difficult but good to know theyre not coming off.
Great carb and came with gaskets which is awesome
As part of our annual, we determined that our carburetor needed to be overhauled, so I contacted Aircraft Spruce about an overhauled unit with a core exchange. I ordered my carburetor and two days later it was delivered. I returned our old carb and in 10 days our credit card had been credited with the core value. Excellent and QUICK service. This has been my experience in dealing with Aircraft Spruce for over 15 years.
Perfect carb, gaskets were included. Perfect fit.
Worked right out of the box. Fixed the issue I was having with mixture control.
Looked like a brand new unit, only required minor adjustments to the idle mixture.
Fast shipping , made arrangements with us to send the core back in 45 days instead of 30 because the plane is currently in the avionics shop. Thank you!
Great fit & finish. Freshened up the old 172’s o300. Waiting on my core reimbursement now.
The carburetor came quickly it was exactly what I wanted the price was cheaper than everyone else and it worked like a million bucks
No studs for mounting the intake air box we’re included. The studs from the old carb were not able to be removed. New studs are not readily available. Plane is down until I get new studs. The carb itself was very nice. Shipping was excellebt. Good customer service.
Rebuilt units are torn down, and all parts are replaced to new spec. An overhauled unit is the unit torn down and only certain parts, not all, are replaced, but still inspected to new unit specs. The work is done by Marvel-Schebler.
Per the supplier: They will be shipped with an 8130 form which will include the EASA number on it.
Per the supplier: Rebuilt and overhauled MSA carburetors are supplied with the engine side mounting gasket. When the air box mounting gaskets are available, we include them. However, they are not always included.
When we receive a core, our returns department does a visual of the unit to make sure the unit is complete, and if it is, we credit the core back to the customer. Generally from the time we issue credit and the amount is funded back to the customers bank account is 5-7 days. The credit memo will have a note that states we are crediting the core amount, under the assumption the unit is in overhaul-able condition. Once the manufacturer receives the unit, it is fully dis-assembled and inspected. If a structural part of the unit is broken, housing, bowl, etc., the replacement cost will be billed to the customer at that time.
Yes, they are actually overhauled by Marvel and marketed as Tempest carb.
