Unit was a good fit on MA3-SPA carb on my Corvair-powered Sonex. Its low profile enabled simplification and streamlining of the cowl installation. I am pleased. It would have been nice if it shipped with a gasket between it and the carb.

Good value for the dollar. Had to make some minor adjustments to fit my Citabria but all in all, very happy.

Great Box for the price you pay. However be prepared to drill couple holes for the bracket and like mentioned you may need to widen the hole slightly for the cable. For the price its decent quality and will give years of trouble free. I have installed this exact box back in 2007. No issues.

Best way to end a control cable. Product is perfect, totally as described.

A bit pricy, but the perfect part for this application. Ive tried making my own part by drilling AN3 bolts. Doesnt work well or consistently. My only negative is that my order took about 2 months to get. Not sure why.

I have used on a fuel valve ball handle with great success. I now have one on my alternate air source arm and works great there too. The set screw really locks good and the size I have is the large one. Great stuff for all kinds of applications.

The set screw that clamps the wire has no safety provision. I think that a filister head screw with safety wire hole can be used to safety the screw so it wont back out.

I got a B nut that was not tapped deep enough for the Allen set screw to capture the .050 cable I used it on. When I tried to tighten it further my allen wrench broke off in the set screw rendering the whole thing useless. THE GOOD NEWS is that upon telling AS&S of my problem, they sent a new one and that one did the job very well. Great service without ANY hassle and expedited shipping. 4 stars only due to the first part sent. Otherwise 5 stars.

Good part for certain tasks where you need this thing to swivel. Most of the time, I use the threaded type with castellated nut, which has no play when installed. As another mentioned, took a long time (about a month) to arrive.

Great quality. The only negative is that I had to drill two holes for a support bracket, one hole for the cotter pin to go through on the hose, and widen the hole for the cable bolt to go through.

The body is very thin material. The lever arm is even thinner. I dont expect it to last long before cracking. Nutplates were not centered in the holes or or flanges.

Good buy for the money but there are a couple issues. The valve is held in with low grade Allen head bolts and elastic stop nuts which I don’t think is a good idea for something that sees a lot of heat. The friction lock on the side wasn’t built properly either. In the fully closed position it barely has any friction and in the fully open position the tab doesn’t touch the serrated teeth at all.

thin material that cracks after about 100 hrs i have tried two of these and both exactly the same. they are cheap but not worth the trouble to change or repair every 100hrs

Guage of material to fabricate the Carb Heat box was thinner than a previous example. The control arm for the carb heat was too long. It would have made contact with the carburetor. I needed to cut it back to the length of the previous heat box. The incoming port for Carb heat had an extension that was too long. This airplane has a turned duct that get attached to the port extension. If I left it as received, the turned duct would have contacted aluminum breather line. I cut the extension back to about 1. All worked out. Carb heat box now installed on airplane.

Very cheaply made. Non or the edges are straight where the air filter mounts. The one I got looks terrible.

Extremely cheap and low quality product. I used it as a base for building a much better unit (installed housings with needle bearings instead of the plastic bushes, replaces flimsy metal parts and hardware.

Cheapest route to an in flight emergency is to fly with this part on your plane. Cheaply made. Tack welds not the best quality. Metal must be recycled beer cans. The gate valve is held onto the actuator rod with non-flight hardware risk of breaking off in flight and traveling through the engine. The description says NOT FAA APPROVED for a reason.

Purchase this box in 2005. About 600 hours in use. Bushing hole elongated. due to vibration. Good value for the money. Purchase another for replacement Sept 2020. Not near the quality of the same 2005 model. They cheapened the metal in the box to the point it might as well be made out of cardboard, I installed the unit until I can find an overhaul kit for old Spruce box. It flexes so much at the neck won’t last 100 hours. Also agree with other posters not a straight edge on the thing and ratchet bar barely touches. Find a new supplier please..
