Overview

Non-polarized Clip-Ons offer 100% UV protection with reduced glare and infrared heat to keep your eyes comfortable on any flight. The lightweight, shatterproof lenses ship with a pouch and a case.

Vision Above All
Precision optics designed specifically for aviators. Top-of-the-line lenses feature notch filtering technology for contrast, clarity, and performance that is second to none.

Lens Technology
The FX lens is an engineering marvel, designed in conjunction with Carl Zeiss Laboratories, ophthalmologists, optical physicists, and even an electrical engineer. Notch filtering technology makes it possible to transition seamlessly between looking inside and outside of the cockpit. This non-polarized lens is remarkable in its ability to transmit high levels of beneficial light into your eyes comfortably and safely, allowing your eyes to work more naturally, and with less strain. This lightweight, shatterproof lens also blocks some near infrared, helping your eyes stay cool and moist while flying.

Frame Technology
Pilot style clip-on has spring-loaded rubber-coated metal clips that gently hold to your prescription glasses. Best suited to fit over larger lenses, the Pilot Clip-On FX features lightweight materials for both comfort and classic style.

METHOD SEVEN AVIATOR CLIP-ON FX SUNGLASSES

March 14, 2023

Not color blind, but I do have defective color vision. The dark gray and dark green tint sunglasses I’ve been wearing washed out colors on my iPad (especially the light blue traffic triangles in Foreflight) badly enough that I was constantly peeking under my glasses. These Method 7 clip-ons fixed that problem completely with no compromise in glare reduction. Pricey to be sure, but worth it! These are FAR better than conventional polarized or unpolarized lenses. They also come with a very stout case and fabric bag. I only wish they would make prescription lenses for regular sunglasses.

I have fairly ordinary aviator style eyeglasses with a bridge across the top. This makes the sunglasses lenses sit about a quarter inch higher than the eyeglass lenses. They still work well enough, but it looks stupid and it points to a thoughtless designer.

Q: The pictures seem to show the Method 7 clip-on sunglasses in two different colours. Is this true? Does any colour do a better job with screens, like iPads?

Per Method Seven: The Pilot clip-on is only available in one color due to lens formulation and coatings. The image that appears to be another color is actually the back side of the lens (it has both front facing coatings and an anti-reflective coating on the back so both sides may appear as different colors). The Pilot clip on will not produce any distortion with iPads or electronic flight instruments since the lenses are non-polarized. Our FX lens technology is still able to cut glare without polarization allowing you to transition between looking both at electronics or digital screens and outside your aircraft.

Q: Any chance of getting these Method Seven Aviator Clip-On Fx Sunglasses in a gradient tint? I find I need no tint at all for the in-the-cockpit panel view.
