After 7 years, the rivet removal tip broke off of my last brake rivet tool. : ( So I spent a little extra money this time and got this rivet tool instead. Good news is that this one has replacement parts! If tthe rivet removal tip breaks off I can just order a new tip. That is a nice touch.

The tool did not have directions in the box, Yes, this is an easy tool to use but it did not seem to have a flare for the rivet. I did go online an a u-tube once again saved the days to the flare situation. I printed out the directions found online for the future but this is something that should be included with the tool. The tool does a great job once the technique is found from u-tube which was not aircraft spruces.

Great tool, previously purchased a W404 tool because it was $7 cheaper. Big mistake, the W404 failed after doing one set of brakes. Rapco tool was much better quality tool and worth the money.

Best $38 I ever spent. The tool is easy to use and far more controlled than whacking something with a hammer. All 16 rivets in my recent pad replacement job were given a PERFECT roll set w/ zero defects. The several impact type rivet set tools I have are definitely now retired.

The Rapco RA825 rivet tool was used to remove and install the rivets used on Rapco RA66-105 Cleveland type brake linings used on a Cessna 172L. It was very easy to use at my hanger by hand without tools or a vise.

Very, very easy to use. A substantial and well made tool. Takes all the stress out of removing and riveting the new brake liners. Easy to remove the rivets without a vise but should use one to rivet the new ones back in. Otherwise youll need an extra hand. Line up the rivets correctly and on the correct side of the liners and backing and youre good to go.

I ordered this Rapco brake lining tool based on the customer testimonials and watching a few YouTube videos. There was available another brand unit a little cheaper however went with a conclusion based on this and the fact that I was about to install some Rapco brake parts. Good choice, easy to use and it comes in it’s own little storage box.

Fantastic tool, worked perfectly! It removes the old rivet with the small removal punch dye, then remove that dye to expose the flaring punch. Insert the large anvil dye on the base, screw down the flaring punch, and the rivet seats perfectly. There were no instructions with the tool but YouTube had some videos on very similar tools that helped, even though those videos covered hammer type rivet tools.

A very fine tool that works. Restoring a car with this tool helped me reproduce exactly the same rolled rivet as found new. Had to make a taller post die from a hardened lawn mower spindle that was stripped so it would reach into the window division bar without interference in the felt channel. So an optional taller die would have been something I would buy. The tool is well priced and very effective. It made me a star in my build forum I post to.

Absolutely the best money I ever spent for a tool. It forms a perfect roll on the rivet every time and makes old rivets very easy to remove. I removed and replaced four pads in 15 minutes with 12 perfect rivets.

Recently this set reminded us of its value when after losing the punch die we had to resort to a drill and drift to remove rivets. It only proved to show just how great this tool is...it defiantly makes your life easier!

I have done breaks with the punch type many times, and almost always split the rivit . I borrowed this from a friend of mine and I can say it is the best break tool I have ever used . It even makes me look good , perfectly formed rivets all of them. If you need a tool like this , press by now!

I used mine for my first ever pad swap. What a great tool. Becareful pressing the rivets out to make sure you have the punch in the center of the rivet. I snug it up just a little and then turn the whole pad and baccking plate back and forth a few times to make sure the ram is centered. One thing I might like to have seen is a ram with a slight bevel to it so it would help self-center itself. Not a big deal though.

This is the only tool you need to replace brake linings. Throw away that old punch and anvil block and get one of these. Much easier than beating out rivets and it allows you to put just the right amount of squeeze on the new rivets without cracking the linings. Very easy to use.

Solid, good quality tool. Bought for servicing a Glasair III with original Cleveland brakes. However, rivet extraction tip is too large to push out old rivet for these small brakes. Rapco might look at adding an additional smaller tip for owners with smaller brake shoe rivet holes .

Works as advertised. Had to file down the punch side of the tool to make it work with 1/8 rivets on my application (the punch was too small for the rivet heads and was tearing them). Now I have a custom tool for my specific needs. The press part of the tool is perfect for doing rivets by hand.

Terrific all-in-one brake lining tool thats as easy to use in the field as the shop! The only downside is the punch (for rivet removal) is not self-centering, so care must be given to insure you are properly aligned to avoid damage to the caliper.

The supplied rivets with my shoes didnt roll over on the ends, but were crushed in middle. The end result was cracked linings. I ended up finding a pair of aftermarket brakes with new shoes installed. Not sure if the problem was with the rivets or the tool.
