I have a lot of problems with nosewheel shimmy in my Cessna. I have bought top of the line tires that were out of round, This Flight Special II was not out of round and in fairly good balance. It has not caused shimmy. I would hove given 5 stars but I have not idea on durability yet.

Used to replace the original 350 x 135 tire on my SZD-59 Acro glider, after I found the size substitution in Goodyear on a European aircraft supplier website. Seems to fit perfectly within the gear well and retract mechanism. Even looks like the original in shape and tread pattern.

Ive been using Flight Custom III tires for many years with great service. However the last set I put on my Malibu saw one go badly out of round and it wasnt from locking up a wheel. Lots of tread still left. I hope it was a anaomaly.

Not impressed. A previously purchased Flight Custom III tire flat spotted because it was grossly out of balance. Looking inside the tire I found a manufacturer’s patch labeled, 1 OZ. The tire flat spotted on the exact opposite side of the patch. The new replacement Flight Custom III did not contain a patch/weight. The tire was mounted so the tube valve stem was on the same side of the tire as the red dot on the tire. When balancing the tire/wheel assembly it took 2 ounces to balance the assembly. I have never had this issue on any of my airplanes with any other brand of tire. Lesson learned the hard way, but it was learned. It won’t happen again.

No sure how this tire compares to others on the market, but they’re not perfectly round which leads to vibration on the ground. We put the tire on a large to make it round and probably had to shave a good 1/8” off in some spots. The tire now looks heavily worn. Amazing they can’t make a product that is supposed to be round, round.
