If you own an older Cessna 172, similar to my 1981 model, you may not know that your primer O rings have dried out and are non-functioning when you prime your engine to start it. These MS29513-020 fuel resistant O-Rings are the size used to seal between the wing skin and the Saf-Air F75 and F75B fuel drain valves. Internally, the F75 uses the -006 O-Ring as the seal. New, the F75 & F75B come with the -020 O-Ring as well of course, the internal -006 O-Ring. What I like about these O-Ring is that they each come in their own factory paper or plastic sealed package with all the sourcing info and dates etc.

These are o-rings. The -12 are the ones used on Scott fuel valves in some Senecas, Aztecs, and Seminoles. The maintenance manual says to lube them with stop lock grease, which is a made up term that no one is familiar with. The correct grease is DuPont Krytox 240AC, which is very expensive. Dont use anything else though, since the o-rings have to slide on every flight (if the checklist is followed), and failure of these o-rings could cause the fuel selector to get stuck on off, or crossfeed into the other tank. Kinda important. If the selector valve is hard to move, or you notice fuel cross feeding into opposite tank while parked, then these valves need overhaul. Takes forever to remove and reinstall.
