Q: Can the dual color indicator be used separately as a single unit red and/or green light connected to a 12V source? For example as an indicator the gear is up (red) or down (green). Thanks

It can. You need sensors that are active high. That is, they need to produce a positive voltage when activated, so for a landing gear, you would connect the gear up switch between +12/28 and the red LED input wire, and the gear down switch between +12/28 and the green input wire. The wire would of course go to ground.

Q: I dont quite understand what you mean by .625, .428 or alternate mounting could you explain this?

The .468 is the hole diameter for the base of LED to be inserted into the panel. The .625 is the diameter of the lens body.
