These alternator kits are FAA PMA Certified to replace the vast majority of popular general aviation alternators. They include everything you need to replace your current alternator using the existing belt and brackets. Where required, the kit will also include brackets, spacers and hardware. An alternative to high-priced, marginally-performing, rebuilt used replacement aircraft alternators. These Plane-Power alternators are the product of years of research, development and intensive testing. Each component has been engineered, developed, tested and re-tested exclusively for use in general aviation aircraft. As a result of these efforts, Plane Power alternators offer significant improvements over legacy aircraft alternator offerings including:
• Generate significantly less heat while producing rated power • Generate rated power at typical aircraft cruise RPMS • Vastly improved balancing drastically reduces bracket failure • Greater reliability for significantly increased service life • Weigh up to four pounds less Included Hardware May Vary Per Kit |

150A | C28-150 | The C28-150 is PMA/FAA eligible on most Continental 520 and 550 Series engines with front mounted gear driven alternators. This spectacular alternator in addition to providing a continuous 150A at cruise RPM will deliver 60A at 1000 RPM and weighing only 12.8 lbs! Also available without debris shield sold as model C28-150S | 07-01838 | ||
*Aircraft electrical system will be limited by existing wiring and output breaker not to exceed 60 amps. The Plane-Power alternator can produce all 70 amps if proper size wiring and circuit breaker is installed and approved. **Also, Teledyne Continental alternator installations used a wide variety of V-belts. Plane-Power recommends the use of TCM P/N 539547-32.00 for most installations of AL12-F60 alternators on TCM engines. |
Any unit being returned for core or warranty core credit shall be, as removed from the engine, complete and not disassembled. No core or warranty core credit will be allowed for automotive units. Units that are rusty or cannot be overhauled for any reason will be classified as scrap, having no value. Units which have been weld repaired, as well as units which have been disassembled and then reassembled with old parts, will also be classified as scrap, having no value. A percentage of the core value will be charged for all missing or damaged parts. At no time will the damaged or missing parts charge on any unit exceed the core value of that unit.
1. Core will only be accepted for credit 12 months from date of invoice.
2. Cores returned in excess of cores invoiced will not be accepted.
3. Cores must be of like purchase, a directly superseded unit or replaced unit when installing an STC'd product.
4. Competitive product cores are acceptable returns.
5. Cores must have a legible data tag for part and serial number verification.Note: Customer will need to provide core for overhaul in the event our supplier does not have cores available to overhaul.
It would be nice if any and all installation instructions would be included with alternator. Otherwise, alternator worked great!

We have 19 planes and when we need to replace the alternator we always go with Plane Power.
AL24-F60 Hartzell Plane Power Alternator
I have never had a problem with a ford alternator. These plane power ones seem to not last, have way more issues and was putting out a 16 volt spike every 3-5 minutes . You would think the regulator would stop that, but two different volt meters on my plane kept saying that high voltage. I swapped regulators and it did the same thing. I replaced the alternator and it mostly cleared up but still seems to jump around between 14.0- 14.2 and today got to 14.3 for a few seconds and I thought it was doing the same thing with a new alternator, regulator, mostly new wires etc.

AL12-70 12V/70A Bd Hartzell Plane Power Alternator
Seems to provide output at t lower RPM than the original (Ford, I believe) alternator. The same previous alternators slight whine in the headset is gone. Has been on the aircraft over a year now, and is still doing great. Is on a towplane that has probably had at least 200 stop-starts in the pat year.

The AL12-P70 (07-01001) is considered a Prestolite replacement. The AL12-P70 (reuses some in place Prestolite mounting parts) and the AL12-70 (kit includes all required mounting parts) are primary alternators used on Lycoming Engines. Both are designed to operate at cruse anywhere between 6000 and 9000 alternator RPM. Generally speaking this means the engine RPM would be somewhere between 2000 and max cruse RPM.
Per the manufacturer: Plane Power alternators do not include capacitor's in their alternators.
Yes, P/N# 07-00999 will work with a Cessna 172N. The bracket is not included in the kit.
You can use a 70 amp breaker. If your aircraft is rated for 40 amps you may want to keep the 40 amp breaker. There is not one specific breaker that we recommend.
No. This does not come with this bracket.
No, this does not include a bracket. You must use the one already installed. No, they do not have internal voltage regulation built in.
This will be 10.9lbs.
Yes, this is externally regulated.
Approx 9.9 lbs.
The alternator weighs approx 13.20 lbs.
