Solid General Tailwheel Tire 6X2

My service from Spruce has always been great but the longevity of this part is not good. Even allowing that I use my 7AC for training this tire is only good for about 100 hours if Im lucky.

The original Goodyear 6 x 2.00 tire on the Lang D501 tailwheel assembly has 11 beads. This General only has 4 beads. I have been thru four of the Generals now and am lucky to get 100 hours and 200 landings out of one, before the beads fail and the tire becomes loose on the rim. The original Goodyear lasted 15 years, 500 hours and at least a thousand landings. Find someone that can make a proper tailwheel tire. At 90 bucks a pop there has to be something better. On a tailwheel airplane the failure prone General is a safety issue.
