This digital iron is uniquely designed for heat shrinking fabric onto vintage aircraft and ultralights with fantastic results. The digital temperature control maintains temperature precisely – set it and forget it – no more calibrating and continuous adjustments. The base plate is twice the thickness of an ordinary iron keeping the temperature uniform across the plate. And the shovel tip will get you in and out of the tightest corners – without a wrinkle. Comes with a non-slip pad for setting down while in use, and an insulated storage bag that lets you put the iron away even if the base plate is still warm. Easy to travel with too. The guys will be fighting over who gets to use it — so get two!
The Fabric Pro Iron is 800 watt and is available in 110 or 220 volts. |

I just ordered a second iron for the lab, because we both like it so much and dont want to share. Its the best iron available. The temperature control is accurate and stable and the automatic off when not used is a very good safety feature. Lars W
Great iron. Haven’t used it yet but looks good and feels good. Fast shipping
Purchased because of the digital temperature readout. Very happy so far.
My previous irons have had problems, broke, needed calibration and testing, and just plain wore out. I bought this for the strong connection between handle and shoe, the digital temperature control and the wattage. I am very happy with it! It comes up to temperature quickly, stays steady and is easy to handle. Aircraft Spruce had great delivery time too. This iron makes me want to cover more airplanes! Excellent tool to get in your garage, very fast delivery from Aircraft Spruce Canada. This iron can be used everywhere where you need precision and versatility. More expensive then other iron available in Canada but last way longer. Stop looking for cheap version, this one worth the money invested, trust us we have tried 4 other brands (2 are note available in Canada anymore, and it is a good thing).
I have been building model airplanes for about 25 years and I have had so many irons and this is by far the BEST one I have ever used. It is well well worth the money. I am restoring my 1946 Piper J-3C 65 Cub and it works GREAT. The digital temperature control is dead one. Amazing. I HIGHLY recommend this iron for ALL of your airplane needs. Thanks Aircraft Spruce! God bless!!!
Very nice shape and precise point- however the light guage lampcord is not resilient enough for the constant movement required for use. My cord broke right behind the stress relief. At 2 years old no warantee.
The iron works well, however it did come with some minor damage that looks like it occurred during manufacture. I dont think it affects the operation of the iron.
The Iron is a great tool. Good quality well built. My only problem is that it did not come with any instructions on how to change settings. It did not take long to figure it out but was a little annoying.
I brought the iron to work so I could brought the iron to work so I could varify its temp and temp variation using our $1,200 super precise, thermocouple, touch thermometer...it showed that the iron was 50 degrees hotter than its reading...so I called aviation art...they say theyve sold nearly 800 irons with only one defective...I DECIDED TO GET OUR CHEAP INFRARED THERMOMETER...IT MATCHED THE IRON READING....GOT OUR MAINTENANCE GUYS FLIR (FORWARD LOOKING INFRARED)...IT MATCHED THE IRON READING... MY AVIATION ART IRON SHOWED US HOW OFF OUR $1,200 SOPHISTICATED THERMOMETER WAS... RESULTS: Temp was w/in +/-5° ( +5° to the FLIR, -5° to the cheap infrared) Temp range when set varied +/-5°
