|When it comes to screen protection, nothing is better than the feel and clarity of pure glass. ArmorGlas™ is like having no screen protector on at all - you won't even realize it's there. ArmorGlas™ is made of premium, ultra-thin tempered glass. It is designed to preserve the feel and clarity of the standard screen on your device while adding a substantial level of protection. ArmorGlas™ is made to protect the screen of your device from fingerprints and scratches and is very effective at absorbing impact to minimize the chance of shattering your display.|
This product worked generally as advertised for me. I did find, however, that when viewing the iPad while wearing sunglasses, the glass seemed to make the screen darker than I am comfortable with, so when Im flying, I am constantly taking off my sunglasses to get a better look at the screen through the ArmorGlas protector. ALSO... and way more importantly This product is tempered glass and very thin. It will shatter fairly easily. Aircraft Spruces webpage about this product contains a warning that this product shouldnt be used with a Ram mount. This is absolutely accurate. Dont try installing this on an iPad and then trying to use a Ram mount. The Ram mounts utilize a clip that very aggressively snaps into place. This clip WILL shatter your newly installed $50 protector.
Was pleased to receive the item in a couple days and the Qaulity was great. I recommend both the screen protector and Aircraft spruce to anyone shopping for aircraft parts and supplies.
Have been using the Armorglas on my iPad Mini in the cockpit for the past week and very happy with the results. The iPad is mounted to the yoke and used in direct sunlight. I had previously used a plastic matte finish screen protector and while it did reduce glare it also blurred the screen reducing crisp lines, colors and text. The Armorglas is very good at reducing screen glare while retaining the crisp graphics on the Retina display. The magnetic iPad cover is not affected. Included are round button caps for the iPad home screen button. The Armorglas is thick and you may break the glass pushing down into the home button, the stick-in cap raises the home button flush with the Armorglas screen.
Per the manufacturer, the ipad air version works on the ipad air 2 as well.
