Generally AN Vise Grips are cheap castings that lack the precision mating surfaces necessary to avoid unsightly tool marks on your fresh hose assemblies. This is especially true with black anodized fittings so prevalent today. Get rid of your old vise jaws and stop using the sharpie to cover mistakes. |

I have installed at least 10 Phenix hose ends without the use of the Vise Jaws and, while they worked, the fabrication process was clumsy and frustrating. For my latest project, 4 hoses and 8 fittings, I decided to use the Phenix Vise Jaws. They really are an essential tool for these fittings. My experience is that even if I were only making up only 1 hose, the jaws are worth the expense. And those magnets are a very nice feature!
These work well with the Phenix fittings to do the install without scratching them up. My only complaint is it they arent useful for the 45 degree fittings, but Im not sure how theyd make that work with these jaws.
