Aircraft Spruce assumes no responsibility or liability for any issue or problem which may arise from any repair, modification or other work done from this knowledge base. Q: Are the batteries replaceable and if so, what type/size? After 5 years has it to be sent in for battery replacement?

The batteries must be replaced by the manufacturer.

Q: Will this fulfill the requirement for an ELT/406 onboard my Cessna 182? I still have the old yellow 121.5 ELT which is probably worthless, though legal.

This is a personal location beacon. This does not legally replace the ELT on your aircraft.

Q: Want to order one for my husband. Can you register it in Canada or is it for US?

This particular one is for the USA off the shelf. We can order you the Canada registered version, please contact Avionics Sales for details at 800-826-3160.

Q: If I purchase a US registered PLB, can I fly globally and receive assistance if required? Or will I only receive assistance in American areas of responsibility/assistance? I am a US citizen with a FAA certificated private pilot, flying a US registered C172 in Japan.

Yes, this can be used worldwide.
