Doctor Dave's Sport Pilot Prep and SP Encyclopedia are the ideal written aids to prepare not just for the knowledge exam and flight test, but for a lifetime of safe and responsible flying. They can be used three ways:
1) SP Prep = full immersion rapid prep for the written,
2) SP Encyclopedia = thorough review of relevant FAA publications essential to both the written and the oral exams, and/or
3) both as entertaining and informative leisure reading.
Friendly and Sincere Mentoring Approach to Effective and Enjoyable Learning:
The narrative is laced with humor, personal anecdotes, and frank sometimes blunt language that keeps the reader alert and involved while feeling secure and comfortable as if in the company of an experienced friend and mentor. And one final unprecedented and unique element: Actual NTSB accident reports are woven into the discussion to show both the necessity for regulations and the consequences of substandard aviating.
Some industry reps fear "scaring away" customers. Doctor Dave tells it like it is so they’re around longer: challenging the user to accept personal responsibility for safety from the first day by learning from and avoiding repetition of the mistakes of others.
This would be 5 stars if the print was a litle larger and the content was better organized/indexed. It is 5 on value with everything included for ten bucks from soup to nuts including PTS and an update sheet packed with it of latest changes. That's lucky since website and phone# on cover are kaput. Liked its constnt safety emphasis using real accidents. Plus the FAR/AIM was edited/boiled down to just what is needed for sport pilots
