Reviews

Kit was as advertised and everything I expected. Came with all necessary hardware and installation instructions. Alcor has their number listed on all the paper work, and I was even able to call them and have a technicals question answered- that was very nice. It’s basic- but works.

Good product but I wanted to clarify that the install requires a very specific hole size of #30 drill bit-to hone. If you are replacing an EDI (or other non Alcor probe), and you have a hole larger than #30 drill, you will need an adapter for this.

So far very happy with the purchase, installed without issue and price was reasonable.

After installing the gauge and prior to putting everything back, I ran the engine for a test. At first the dial did not move so I thought it inoperative. Then I revved the engine past idle and it came up. I have yet to fly with due to other concerns but I feel it will be fine.

The probe was easy to install on the exhaust. All that was needed was a screwdriver. Connect to the leads and gauge and you are done.

This kit was easy for my mechanic to install (onto a Piper PA28). The whole job took less than 2 hours. Works nice! Thank you.

Supplied probe p/n 86255 is a perfect fit replacement for original probe (p/n 86259). Shipped and received very quickly at a fair price.

The probe is good quality and well made. The cable ties are cheap and nasty and won’t last very long especially as it is installed near the exhaust

These instruments work great for our test stand applications. Unfortunately I have discovered that we do not get our school discount when I order direct on-line. In order to get this discount, I must call in our orders, which adds time and inconvenience. Fortunately the phone order staff are always great and very helpful.

Q: On the Alcor Basic EGT gauge 46150, how many degrees do the major and minor tick marks represent?

The large ticks are at 100 degree each starting as 1200F and the small ticks are 25 degrees each.

Q: Does All necessary mounting hardware included mean that probes are included, too?

The Alcor 2-1/4 Inch EGT Meter does not come with any probes.

Q: What P.N Type K EGT probe goes with this gauge?

The part number 86255 would be the applicable probe for this instrument.

Q: Is this simple system compatible with a certified engine on a Cessna 150K model? And, how does the exhaust probe mount? Thanks!

This unit uses a 3 1/4 - 3 1/8 hose clamp. Please check with your local Aviation office to see if this PMA is ok for your aircraft.
