Q: How does this unit connect electrically to the aircraft? I dont see any wires in the picture.

The TL918 unit comes with 2 - 6" wires (1 red and 1 black) to connect electrically to the aircraft.

Q: Is there a 24 volt option or will it run on 24v as is?

Yes, it is available in 24v. Our part number is 12-12039. Please use the drop down list above to select 12v or 24v.

Q: Can I get the paperwork included for this model 918 LED tail light TL918 to install on a certified aircraft?

This tail light is not PMA'd so no paperwork is available for installation on certified aircraft.

Q: Does this unit require any additional power supplies, or does it connect directly to the battery voltage. Can it be mounted vertically or horizontally?

Per the supplier: The LED TL918 TAIL LIGHT does not require any additional power supplies. Also, it can be mounted vertically or horizontally.

Q: I have a 63' Piper Cherokee 180...will this fit as a drop in replacement for the standard dim bulb that I currently have, once it's all wired up?

No. The PSA tail light is not FAA approved for use in certified aircraft.

Q: Is the screw pattern of this lamp the same as a Whelen? In other words, is it a standard size?

Yes, this units footprint is standard and should fit a standard taillights footprint.

Q: Are these PSA 918 LEDs white or red?

These are white.

Q: Is this a good replacement for the Grimes A2064 (in an LSA or experimental)?

Yes this should have a similar footprint but you may have do some modification to the wiring.
