The Saitek X52 is an incredible little HOTAS. Ive owned mine for well over 12 years now,...that should be sufficient time for thorough product testing. Its been through several moves, storage bins, and heavy abuse (use) around the house. It still performs like new. Due to old age, the rubber grips became sticky, but with a little rubbing alcohol and elbow grease, it cleaned right up. Ive also owned different control setups like a yoke and pedals, but always fall back to using the plane-jane Saitek X52. Is it the best setup in the world? Heck no...everything has pros and cons, but the X52 is a well rounded tool for many cockpits. Electronics lasting this many years is unheard of in this day and age, and even more so that new X52s are still available on the market. I removed the annoying 25% and 75% throttle notch pin from the quadrant today, and all mating parts are still lubricated as if it were brand new. Thats a really good sign. Please note that I did not purchase this product from Aircraft Spruce, but they are a reputable business and deserve my review.
For the price, this is one of the best Hotus setups out there. My only complaint with the G series of the x52 is like everyone else says, the dial to control the amount of force pushing on the throttle is broken out of the box. I believe all of the G series X-52 are like this. You can watch YouTube videos on how to disable it, but it does void the warranty. If you have the extra buck to spend, Id recommend the Pro x-52 if your picky about your throttle controls

The pro has a few more features and options. "The X52 Pro takes all the standout features from the original X52 and elevates them to a higher altitude."
