MODEL A344T Typical use: Cockpit/Cabin H3R's smallest extinguisher with a gauge. Recommended for a 1-4 person aircraft, including the pilot. Click here for complete listing of H3R Aviation Fire Extinguishers |
The inspection and maintenance requirements for gauged fire extinguishers such as model C354TS, C352TS and A344T per NFPA 10 call for a 6-year maintenance and a 12-year hydrostatic test calculated from the month and year of manufacture. As long as the extinguisher undergoes the maintenance and passes the test it can remain in service.
H3R Aviation calculates the remaining shelf life of its gauged fire extinguishers by comparing the timing of the 6-year maintenance to the month and year of manufacture per the following formula.
(72 months - Months elapsed from manufacture date) / 72 months = Shelf life remaining
For example, if an extinguisher was manufactured in February of 2009 and the current month is June 2009, it has a remaining shelf life of 94%.
(72 months - 4 months) / 72 months = 94%
Great size for my Warrior. Fits perfectly on center floor between rear seats.
Now that I have this in my cockpit I won’t need it. The size is perfect for my 2 seater.
Perfect fire extinguisher for a Bonanza!
Nice small unit which provides options for mounting it within reach. This was a replacement for a dry chemical model when I learned about the damage those do to aircraft aluminum and wiring. Glad to have a proper Halon model in the aircraft now.
Solid and well made, but yet compact to fit where needed.
A little pricey, BUT a very important piece of equipment. I was going to keep an old extinguisher like this one I have had for 15 years, but I decided the piece of mind I would get knowing I had a newer better piece of safety equipment on board was worth the money. Easy ordering and fast shipping keeps me coming back to Aircraft Spruce.
Really hefty little first extinguisher. Top quality. Pilot Shop had a good price on it and provided rapid delivery.
I got this to replace an RT A600. That one I really liked for its compact size, but unfortunately one day I went to remove it and it was completely empty. Thats a lot of money to spend for a product that has a plastic top that easily pops off and the thing drains itself. This one is much higher quality from the looks of it. The unfortunate thing is that while I would like to buy a 2nd one, my other plane has an RT A400 that just fits in the position its in, and this particular design is not made in one thats similar size to the RT A400. I dont have room for this in the best location in the other aircraft. Hopefully they will make a shorter/smaller one at some point.
Well built with high quality bracket Securely packaged and fast shipping. Satisfied. Thanks
Purchased this to replace the RT A400 model in my homebuilt aircraft. Apparently, the RT A400 is discontinued because it was leaking. When I read this, I weighted mine and indeed, it was empty. This said, the A3444T seems higher quality. It is definitely heavier and the reason for the 5 stars is that it fit the same hole pattern as the RT A400, which made it an easy installation.
The A344T extinguisher does come with the bracket.
The H3R extinguishers are charged and ready to use out of the box.
Per the supplier: There is no defined timetable for this extinguisher as long as it is serviced properly and maintained.

No. The hole patterns are not interchangable as they do not share the same hole pattern.
It can be mounted in either orientation, but while in use it must be held in the vertical position.
Yes, see Part# 13-06170 for the bracket.
If an 8130 is required it would need to be refilled at an FAA repair station that offers that service. If an 8130 is not required a local fire service company should be able to fill it. Depending on the extinguisher it may be more cost effective to replace rather than refill.
