Easy install, easy to configure
Super easy to install the Uavionix Tailbeacon on my C180. Use the existing wiring, complete the registration paperwork and go fly the recommended profile. Plan about two hours for everything, install, paperwork and first flight and of course easy ordering and shipping by Spruce.
Installed the Uavionix Tailbeacon on my â53 C180. The entire installation took about two hours - done. Plan 20 minutes using the existing position light wiring to install the compact device. Use the App to verify that the unit is powered and transmitting, complete the paperwork in about an hours time and then go fly the recommended flight profile. Once the flight is complete a quick log into the FAA website will verify that the unit is working or not, mine worked.
Best way to get it done!
Good little produce, easy to install and a little tricky to setup with the app. Make sure the aircraft is outside and your phone is on airplane mode (with WiFi connected) or youâll be stuck on the instructions page not the setup page.
Yes, the tailBeacon has an STC for the Cessna 172. The high-wing installation satisfies the FAA requirements and enables subsequent tailBeacon installations to be performed on any âsuitable aircraftâ without STC as a minor alteration. A suitable aircraft supports the installation of the tailBeacon without airframe modification.
